It’s been far too long since I last shared my current skincare faves with you. I recently spotted this genius skincare organiser thanks to Gemma and couldn’t wait to order one. Usually my skincare products end up split between my bedside table, dresser, bathroom, gym bag and office with no logic as to what has ended up where. Marie Kondo has me feeling like a changed woman and storage solutions are my new guilty pleasure. Now I have all of my face masks, oils, serums, lotions, cotton buds and pads right where I need them.
This Black Cherry Lip Balm came with my February Vegan Kind box and quickly became my new favourite lip product. It’s 100% natural so is far better for the lips than most other brands and tastes delicious enough to eat.
I’ve found it tricky to hunt down a face wash that lathers up well enough to use with my Foreo but that doesn’t contain any nasty ingredients. This Fushi Enzyme Face Wash works perfectly and is packed full of herbs and oils, such as rose otto to add a light floral scent. It’s said to boost cell renewal, brighten skin and cleanse deeply, which gives an even better result when used in combination with the Foreo.
Tropic has made a name for itself in my collection and with each product I try I become more impressed by the brand. Their skin serums and oils are particularly excellent. I use the Fruit Peel Resurfacing Serum at night whenever my skin is looking a bit blah and in need of a boost, to which I wake up the next morning with a glowy, fresh looking complexion. Truly a facial in a bottle. I’m also a huge fan of the Pure Lagoon Blemish Prevention Serum. Enriched with prebiotics, its a miracle worker for lingering breakouts and irritation. The serum has a super lightweight watery consistency, making it ideal for when the skin is feeling too sensitive for any heavier products.
Ever wanted somewhere more chic to store your cotton buds than the plastic container they come in? Enter this glass storage jar from Muji. I know talking about cotton buds borders on the completely mundane, but hear me out, this jar is perfectly paired with their thin cotton buds that are best used for sharpening eyeliner and cleaning up nail polish. Sometimes the mundane can be so very satisfying.
Omorovicza ticks all the boxes when it comes to luxury, top quality skincare. Whenever I want to give my skin the ultimate treat, I apply the Deep Cleansing Mask to my T-zone and find that it instantly calms down any breakouts whilst drawing out impurities. I save it for pamper nights when I know that I can take some time out to indulge.
The Murad Pore Extractor is another of my favourite masks and works wonders for balancing out oily areas, leaving the skin feeling squeaky clean and renewed. When my skin is having a hormonal cry for help I slather this on like there is no tomorrow.
I’m pretty neglectful when it comes to my eye area, I haven’t used an eye cream for years, always hoping that my standard daily moisturiser would do the job. As I near my mid twenties I’ve put a stop to that and have been using Kate Somerville Line Release in an effort to target my dark circles. The cream is so rich that it has an almost balm like texture. It leaves the eye area looking rejuvenated, whilst giving a hydrated base for seamless concealer application.
I first touched on Emulsion in my Cruelty Free Christmas Gift Guide. The brand are vegan, natural and have a genius concept of customisable products. I’ve been using the Face Cream Base and Wake Up Happy Essential Blend daily for the last couple of months and will most certainly be repurchasing both once I run out. It’s such a smart move to have the option of enriching your skincare with add ons depending on the level of nourishment it’s in need of or to target problem areas. I often mix the face cream with the oil in a morning and use the oil alone for a heavier application at night.
