A few weeks ago I posted about my birthday break at Ickworth and promised a review of the Hotel, so here it is. I say Hotel but in fact Ickworth is a sprawling estate and has both Hotel rooms in the main building and a Lodge house half a mile away from the buzz of the main area.
This place is seriously breathtaking, from the architecture of the rotunda building to the vast gardens of planted flowers it really is an English country Hotel at it’s finest. I’ve stayed here a few times now and it has always been my favourite place to escape to as it’s so easy to lose yourself in the grounds. The staff are always incredible too and make the place feel like a home from home, I can’t express into words just how warm and welcoming it always feels.
There is a Spa, pool, conservatory for breakfast, afternoon tea rooms, a children’s crèche, a cinema room and a fine dining restaurant all packed into the main Hotel along with tennis courts and bikes to hire outside making a limitless amount of things to do, and they allow for dogs too.

I guarantee if you book a stay at Ickworth you will have such a great time, it definitely has a little place in my heart as you can probably tell. There is so much to discover that fitting it all into one blog post would be impossible and it’s always nice to find out the mysteries of a place for yourself. Prices can be a expensive depending on when you book but we managed to get a deal for £150 a night including breakfast and three course dinner for two, this offer is currently available for most of September too.
