Not long ago an email popped into my inbox asking whether I’d like to try the sea salted caramel range from Artisan du Chocolat and as you’d expect I jumped at the chance. A short while after that I received a delivery of chocolate treats and was really impressed by the sleek packaging and had a good browse through the brochure which had me lusting after so much chocolatey goodness. Back to the sea salted caramel range and I got to try out the original and milk chocolate variants of the truffles, both oozing with a dark caramel centre surrounded by a hard shell of top quality chocolate. The chocolate bars have a dark caramel flavour and are easier to nibble on than the truffles due to not having the liquid centre, probably the better option for someone with less of a sweet tooth. If you are a fan of sea salted caramel then there is no doubt you will enjoy these offerings from Artisan du Chocolat, but check out their website too as they have many other goodies to choose from.
“Our original sea salted caramels invented in 2003 by
Gerard Coleman for Gordon Ramsay’s menu at Claridges: a sweet liquid
caramel with a pinch of Noirmoutier island’s grey salt, captured in a
cocoa dusted shell of intense dark chocolate.”
