A few days ago we decided to have an impromptu barbecue so headed off to the supermarket last minute to pick up everything we needed, god damn those places for shutting at 4am on sunday even in summer and for making me reenact supermarket sweep as a result. Those long red peppers are the best thing I've ever tasted off a barbecue, they are so sweet and juicy and charring their skin brings out the most incredible flavour. If you're having a barbecue this summer (of course you are) then I urge you to try them. I can never have a barbecue without ice cold coronas and melted marshmallows at the end either, summer time I love you.
