Eating out is one of my favourite things to do which is why I'm going to start writing posts on places that I go to eat. I don't know about anyone else but I usually like to know that a place is good before I spend my money there and most of my best meals have been at places that have been recommended to me. I was in Camden a week ago and visited Rossopomodoro (quite a mouthful) for lunch, which is an Italian restaurant with branches around London. I had a hangover from the night before so was in the mood for something simple. Pizza being my favourite food ever I opted for a Margherita with mushrooms. It's woodfired so tastes authentic but has a fairly thick dough crust so is filling too. The tomato sauce used is where it's at though, it's so flavourful and rich and soaks into the base really nicely. My mum had the Gnocco which is potato gnocchi in a smoky cheesy tomato sauce, definitely the perfect hangover cure! Both were washed down with Chinotto Lurisia which is made from 'an ancient fruit', in my eyes it just tastes like a fancy version of Dr Pepper but definitely well worth trying out. The restaurant itself is really spacious and comfortable to dine in, there's a typically Italian laid back feel and the staff are really friendly too.

I've been wanting to try out the Wilton icing set that I got around Christmas time for absolutely ages and the other day I decided to have a go. For the first batch I went for bubblegum pink icing, baring in mind this was the first time I had ever attempted at icing cupcakes 'professionally' they didn't turn out too bad. I worked out that I had made the icing slightly too thick and was making the job more difficult than it needed to be so the next day I had a go at another lot and focused on making the icing light and creamy. I make cupcakes the lazy way and use a stand mixer, my hand would probably drop off otherwise! I definitely recommend getting yourself the icing kit, it's super cheap and you can use the bags inside many times. Also check out the baking aisle of your local supermarket for decorations and dyes that are usually on offer. If you are wanting to learn how to ice them properly, YouTube has tons of videos.
