selfridges 'desination denim' launch event

Goodie bag

Just over a week ago I was invited to my first ever fashion event as a blogger at Selfridges for the launch of 'Destination Denim'. If you haven't already heard about this, it's basically a couple of weeks where Selfridges will be celebrating all things denim, including product launches, designer appearances, style advice and special events across all of their stores. If you've ever thought about snapping up the pair of jeans from your dreams then there couldn't be a more fitting occasion to get involved. I felt honoured to have been asked along to the launch event, I was included in a small group of journalists and bloggers that were let into Selfridges in the morning before it had opened to the public. It was quite a surreal experience as we were ushered into the deserted department store and led up to the third floor. On arrival we were greeted with denim themed Lola's cupcakes and fresh fruit as we were talked through 'Destination Denim' and all that it entailed. Afterwards we got to watch the jeans in action as some very flexible ladies performed some yoga moves to demonstrate the great fit of denim and how easily you could move in them. I was even treated to a Selfridges goodie bag (swoon) which included an amazing pair of Citizens of Humanity waxed skinny jeans, a canvas shopping bag, workout socks and a £100 All Saints gift voucher!

disco pants

Whilst in Paris last month I finally caved into buying the famous American Apparel disco pants. I can't say that I was too thrilled about paying £70 for a pair of trousers however the fact that I can wear them with almost anything and that they suck me in to give me a better looking figure is justification enough in my mind. However if you are after a cheaper pair then Glamourous do their own version at half the price.

7 eiffel hotel paris

As I'm sure that most of you will have already seen on my blog, a month ago I stayed in Paris for a few days for my Birthday. As my blog is lifestyle related I'm going to be venturing into hotel reviewing and lovely places to stay so I thought there is no better way than to kick off with a review of a Parisienne hotel. The hotel is based in the centre of Paris but as it is down a quiet street with vintage shops and bakeries as neighbours you forgot the hustle and bustle of city life. It's also just a short ten minute walk from the Eiffel Tower and a few paces away from the nearest metro which made it absolutely ideal for me. The room that I stayed in had a perfect balance of comfort and style with features such as a rain shower and a flat screen tv. My favourite thing about the hotel most certainly was the beautiful terrace bar that served an array of cocktails late into the evening and was the perfect place to recline and have a rest after a long days shopping.

Overall I can't recommend the hotel enough, personally I booked a package through Eurostar for a two night stay with train tickets to and from London St Pancras for two people for bang on £500, which I thought for mid July was a superb deal. If you want to find something similar then just select your dates on the Eurostar website and be sure to enter '7 Eiffel' into the search bar when entering more details. The hotel is also featured on the Guardian's 10 best boutique hotels on Paris's left bank, which I think is definitely a further seal of approval!

vivienne westwood purse

For my eighteenth birthday a few weeks ago I was lucky enough to receive this beautiful nude patent Vivienne Westwood purse as a gift from my mum. I'd actually been lusting after the purse for a few years and it was always really hard to get hold of, in and out of stock and off and on their website like nobodies business. I definitely couldn't of asked for a better present as it fits all of my cards and extra change but the colour also goes with everything I wear.
